Just to let you know it's a big world out there and we all have spiritual gifts. Spiritual gifts are something that you can use to uplift someone else. Seek your gift and use it to the fullest. God designed it so.

The crystal river and the tree of life

2010 May 21

The river is flowing for we are just like one,

only passing through.

The crsytal waters

stone cold from a distance

and we refrain in life many times

for everything has its’ season

just like the crystal river

flowing through time

but suddenly from a distance,

we see the tree of life,

such a small object

yet inmense significance

not of gold

but of simple wood,

the wood of a carpenter

that brings substance to the table

again, of wood

so we run to grasp its’ meaning

regardless of the cold world here

and find life.

Childhood memories…

She always gave me the most sincere hugs when we saw each other…even years after her divorce with my brother. I’ll never forget her loud laugh and spunky way of seeing things, seeing life in itself. I don’t think she had any fear of her illness or perhaps she hid it very well. I believe deep in her heart, she knew who she was in Christ and never forgot what her parents had taught her.

Childhood memories? Yes many. She was my best friend from Mexico. I vividly remember one hot day when her Mom and my Mom sent us both to the river to rinse a large tin round bucket of wet clothes. I must have been about 12 years old and she several years younger and the load was heavy to carry. We as normal kids do,  forgot about the clothes. But we sure had a blast swimming all afternoon, while Berta pretended to be baptizing someone saying “en el nombre del Padre, del Hijo, y del Espirity Santo” and suddenly sinking  into the water… by the end of the day we had less clothing than we had brought, as I know we let several pieces flow away in the river because of our distraction as little girls but we sure had our moments together and I will never forget them. Yes she was my sister-in-law and always will be. Berta was a courageous woman in many ways while living here on earth.  Just a reminder, even if it’s not breast cancer awareness month: Please go start or complete your plan to have yourself examined, for the sake of life.

                                           ESA PALOMA

Esa paloma

que vida tiene

esa paloma

que volo y se fue

esa paloma

que tengo siempre

siempre tengo

en mi corazon.

Hoy es mas bella

hoy es mas blanca

y sabe a donde

se va ir.

Tiene su nido

tiene a su Cristo

siempre lo tiene

en su corazon.

Tiene sus alas

mas grandes y bellas

tiene su rostro

igual que yo,

su cara fresca

para ver a su Cristo

ha llegado

a su destinacion.

“Unfailing promises…”

Do you ever wonder how people function without God? I do. This world is so chaotic and unpredictable but we don’t have to become part of it. God designed us very special with a “warrior mind” to tackle the the trials and tribulations of this world for such is life. Iife can also be beautiful if you chose to see it that way. God gives you unfailing promises when you reach for his Word and that brings peace in itself…these last 24 hrs. I was encountered with decisions/choices to make and advice to give as a mother but I go directly to the “promises God gives” and suddenly there is an instant  peace because I know that He is in control….we tend to focus more on “wants” than “needs” these days.   Air, food, water, healthy kids and grandkids are some of the things we basically need. For the next 24 hrs., try to look at your surroundings… stay blessed.

Vicky’s birthday poem…

                                                TEACH ME TO TEACH, LORD

Teach me to teach Lord

teach me to fly

teach me to soar

when I don’t know why.

Teach me to see

the ones in need

for I know, Lord

they’re from your seed.

Help me to hear

the crying child

screaming for love

humble and mild.

Teach me speak, Lord

as my mother taught me

and let the voice ring

as it should be.

Stand for what is right

and pray for what is wrong

teach me to

see, hear, speak…

and so she teaches the multitude.

Happy Birthday Vicky. Hope to encourage you to finish your teaching degree.  love you Mom.

Beads of prayer

It’s not a rosary
for you will see
just a reminder
between you and me.
That what we ask
is true to seek
with faith and love
humble and meek.
I pray each time
we touch a bead
for with a touch
start a seed.
A seed of answered
prayer we know
our God is great
for sure He’ll show.
I pray that you
will let them know
it’s only just a while.
You’ll get your journal
and write in it
that things are done
as you see fit!

“Hello FB family”… it’s what captivated me to write this. What a beautiful family we are. It’s was God wants in a family. As some of us make plans to go out for the weekend and get so exited planning the details, have you ever wondered about the title to this thought? Surely we are not here forever and our days are appointed here on earth. Only the Creator knows. But wouldn’t it be so awesome to say those same words  when we meet again in heaven: “Hello FB family”…..John 3:16

Who washed the garments of Jesus?

2010 April 1

I’m so exhausted

I’m so out of luck

there’s no one better

to do all the work.

So I take on the challenge

of what’s to be done

but find that like Martha

Iv’e toiled and turned.

“Why should I stand here

and wash all the clothes

when I can be sitting

like Mary up close?”

But things have to be done

and your’e not the one

so I go back once again

and take out the fun.

When suddenly it hits me

of who washed the clothes

the garments of Jesus,

on one knows.

Perhaps it was Martha

or just even Mary

but Martha was weary

while Mary was “merry.”

You see, Mary had planned,

she knew He was coming

she wanted to make time

and spend it with Him.

So early she rose up

and gathered His garments

went to the well

and made the adjustments.

She sang as she washed

she quoted a verse?

I don’t know how

she completed it first.

So that’s why she found time

to sit down before Him

and when Jesus left

He went with clean garments.

Those garments of Jesus

have suddenly stained

the blood shed before them

for all the three Marys.

Then, beautiful linens

they used with sweet spices

to cover the body

as they went to the tomb.

One bright early morning

one Mary did see

that the garments of Jesus

wrapped, folded and free.

No longer they require wash

for the stains should be fair,

a reminder of God’s love

and that He’s no longer there!

….the king and His throne

many lands that He owns

for He made those by hand

and they weren’t with sand

but from rock and strong

no one knew His new song

now we sing it along

for He was not wrong.

He is King!

Yes He’s King!

and our praises we sing

to the King and His throne

it’s a wonderful home

the King and His throne.

Resurrect me Lord

Might not see it

might not feel it

but you oh Lord

are the one.

Keep the promise

of resurrection

by shaking things up

and I will remain standing

like a rock

like Lazarus

with linens

having been wrapped

suffocating me now

my spirit desperate for air

longing to come out

and start over…

a new resurrection.
